Familia Peluche

HOLA HOLA! I love showing the outfits I end up styling for you guys. This one I had been planning for a while. When my dear friend Liesl showed me little snips here and there of her Fall 2014 collection I already knew there were items that were meant to be in my closet,  and this crop top is definitely a must have from her newest collection. I mean can you blame?! She is a boss ass bitch in making crop tops. LOL I couldn’t stop wearing this little bad boy. Check here, here, here and here. See! I don’t play when it comes to Liesl’s tops. What do you guys think of the way I styled it?! I decided to wear it with this coat from Old Navy which I bought as soon as I saw it. My family immediately reminded me of the similarity between my outfit and the wardrobe of this Mexican sitcom we loved to watch when we were younger, La Familia Peluche.

Hola chicas guapas!

Party Pooper

It took my a bit of courage to wear this dress again. I first wore this to FFWeek last summer and then to a friends birthday party where I got really messed up. To make a long story short I ended abandoning my bestie at the party because I thought she left me. I ended up throwing up in a couple of cabs, how classy of me, and got home with my vagina practically out since the dress had unbuttoned from SoHo to The Bronx. Honestly I  was quite scared to wear it. I think you can still smell the mixture of Vodka and Tequila. It sounds worse then it sounds. I am actually the complete opposite of this. I never get so drunk and this was my first time getting  wasted. I don’t recommend it. I haven’t been able to drink tequila ever since. Please ignore the story and enjoy the pics.

One Top : Three Looks

Hi guys! Being a personal style and fashion aficionado making your outfits look different and fresh without shopping every weekend can be pretty irritating at times. So I decided to do the stressing for you and today I’m going to share how to wear an item, that most likely we all already own, in three different looks and for three different occasions. Here are the looks. Hope you enjoy the video!

Look 1: Date Night / Girls Night Out

This look is perfect if you are going on a date night or a fun night out with the girls. I paired the denim top with a chiffon skirt. Nothing says “girly” then a soft pink chiffons skirt.I also added black accessories, such as the bag and the shoes, to add a little more edginess to the looks. If you are not afraid to romanticizing the look too much, wear cream or nude heeled sandals and a soft and delicate clutch.

Look 2: Casual Cool Girl Look

Denim on denim has become such a classic. I paired my light colored denim top with my distressed denim jeans to contrast colors and textures. Add a statement necklace/earrings or a cool pair of shades like I did for that “cool girl” look. This look can be worn for a casual day of just hanging out with your family to running errands. You don’t have to wear heels like I did but these are super comfortable. Extra cool points if you theres a glimpse of your bra for that sexy look. Feel free to change your shoes for some cool sneakers, which happen to be in trend now!

Look 3: Fun Office Look

Not many of us are able to wear a cool looking outfit like this at work but if you’re work environment is pretty laid back feel free to copy this look. I did a statement lippy as well as a knockout necklace. Had we not had these factors into the look it would have looked a bit dead. Wear something that says “Im cute and fashionable but I mean business!”  just like this satchel. A cool pair of glasses never hurt anyone so don’t forget to pop them on before that important meeting.

As you can see I’m really getting into making youtube videos so don’t forget to head over and subscribe and like the videos!

Its Beanie Season…

“Its beanie season, I don’t need a fucking reason no matter the degrees if its heated or its freezing”

Im not sure how many of you are familiar with Dumbfoundead, a Korean rapper from L.A. I might loose cool points with you guys but in his song “Korean Jesus” he mentions beanies and how he wears them all year long. This is probably one of my favorite spits of his song and the reason I have been waiting all summer long to get cooler. He made me buy a beanie. Unlike him I did have to wait for when it was freezing for me to wear them. Im a bigger girl and I can not wear a beanie in the summer. I would sweat a pool. I sweat if I blink too much. We cant risk it.

Here are some pictures I took today. I literally just bought it last night and couldn’t wait to wear it. The sweater has orange bright mid sleeves, remember this post? Enjoy the pics!

Platinum Heeled Loafers

I think it was about a year ago that I went to H&M and saw a pair of platinum heeled loafers and fell in love! Apparently my pockets  had holes that day and I couldn’t buy them right there on the spot. I was currently interning, working and going to school. I had to wait for friday/payday and ran to buy those babies. I thank the lord was rewarding my patience, these were the last ones in my size. Funny thing is that I never wore them. I always thought I would get a specific skirt to wear it with, but after a year of waiting for that perfect outfit I decided to wear them for you guys. And to me this is the perfect outfit for these shoes. A very laid back look with a great pair of shoes. Don’t you think?

Till next time!

Hola!

Hasta la proxima!_DSC0590Best part of wearing them? They are super comfy! Don’t mind my face._DSC0525 _DSC0548 _DSC0570What im wearing:

Panache Event

Hi guys! Ive been a busy bee this week. I assisted Panache’s Bras and Blowouts event at Dream Dry at 315 and 57th in Manhattan over at Columbus Circle, hosted by the fabulous Nicolette Mason. It was such a fun event and I have to tell you guys Panache Bras have changed my life. This may sound so dramatic but I honestly haven’t had a bra fit the way these bras do. I was fitted by the amazing expert and found out I have been wearing the wrong bra size. No shocker there, I was told a lot of women do. Here are some of the pics of the event. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Hola chicos! He estado super ocupadita esta semana.

Rent The Runway Plus

I’m back to reality and I cant complain at all about it. I was invited to Rent The Runway’s Plus line launch hosted by the always adorable Nicolette Mason. Even though many love to be fashionably late I was fashionably early to the event, about 10 minutes to be exact. I guess I was too excited and couldn’t wait to go, and RTR did not disappoint. As soon as I arrived I was welcomed with beautiful sparkly dresses a nice table with treats and champagne. Can I complain? Nope!

Now more on the dresses. For those of you who don’t know about RTR, it is a rent-your-dream-dress type of service. RTR lets you rent dresses for those special events accompanied with accessories and even spanks and all for a fraction of what the actual prize would be. The first time I heard of RTR I thought it was genius. I mean think about it! How many special occasion dresses do you have and wont wear it again?! A lot, no? So this is perfect for us crazy shoppers. We get to wear the label without paying the full price. Finally RTR has added their plus section.

Quick tip don’t be afraid of going up a size or two when you are ordering your dress. Also RTR will let you order up to 2 sizes just in case one wont fit. They have the dresses available for different heights so you don’t have to worry about tailoring.

These dresses were all perfect for the upcoming holidays. I was lucky enough to be able to try them on 😉

A Orillas Del Zamora…

So as soon as my dear friend Karla gifted these super cute Forever21 shorts I knew what I would write about on the blog. But before I do, I wanted to share these amazing pictures of my little trip to Zamora. I went there once about 10 years ago and remember being dumbfounded by how beautiful it was. I knew I wanted to go back one day.
These pictures were taking on our way there, which is my favorite part. You can see a variety of waterfalls on your way there. Oh how I wish I was there again! Enough of my nostalgia. Here goes what i really want to say…
While being in one of my native countries, Ecuador, and as i enjoyed my family, the food, the scenery, and my friends I have to mention a few things about being an immigrant in both of my native countries.
I was born originally in Loja, Ecuador. My parents migrated to the states when I was only 7 months old. I grew up in The Bronx, New York. As I got older and interacted with others I came to the conclusion that I have been and will be an immigrant everywhere I go. It doesn’t seem to change. When I was 13 my parents and I moved to Ecuador for a couple of years. I always say it was one of the best times of my life. I learned so much about my country of birth. However everyone referred to my siblings and I as ” Los gringos,” which is a nickname given to Americans. I had used it before towards others. For some reason I never saw myself as a “gringa” since I came from a spanish speaking country. It was funny to see how even though I was ” one of them” I was singled out as a gringa. Don’t get me wrong, I never took it offensive nor did they mean in such way. If there’s one thing I can assure you about Ecuadorians is that we have a great sense of humor and love to joke around, or at least the ones around me.
I remember always saying it loud and proud that I was Ecuadorean to everyone and anyone, whether they asked or not. As a child I always remember being called the spanish girl, though it was wrong since I’m not from Spain.
After analyzing the situation and much thinking I asked myself: where am I from? And I realized that no matter where I went I would always be an immigrant. In my native country I was a “gringa” and in the USA I was an Ecuadorian. Which made me come to a conclusion. I am an eternal immigrant. It’s true. I am Ecuadorian-American but no matter where I go I will always be a foreigner.
Don’t worry, I  have no problem being the immigrant, for some reason I tend to cheer for the underdog and though Latinos are the biggest minority we still are slightly neglected.  I write this to create awareness of who we are and to prove that we are all the same. When we die we either all go to heaven or hell ( for those who believe) an we are not separated by an American or Ecuadorian heaven or hell. Love your neighbor and accept them.

See the braid? I went through a braid-my-hair everyday phase while over there. How beautiful is this shot! You can see the road and how its been done over the waterfall.

An American Blogger In The Botanical Garden

At this point of my trip I had seen all my family and decided to be a tourist. And since you guys were always in my mind, I needed to find a nice place to take some pics for you guys. My lovely little cousins, (Hi Bridget and Joseline!), told me about the very beautiful botanical garden. The view from wherever you stood was breath taking. This has to be one of my favorite locations I have taken pictures for the blog from. Neither my cousins nor I had been there before so after taking the pictures we were told that I missed so much in the Botanical Garden like waterfalls, which I am a fan of.  I guess ill have to go back to Ecuador just for those pics!

Is it me? Or does this outfit feel very Nicolette Mason-ish, no?!

In Ecuador, most of the country stops what they are doing during lunch time. Most small businesses close for about three hours to go home or out to lunch. We completely forgot about the ecuadorian lunch time and we went to the garden while it was shut down. We had to wait a couple of hours before we even went inside. The pictures from this point forward are from the inside of the botanical garden.

Had to change shoes after a while. These oxfords were very comfy. I actually got the shoes for $20 or so, at a super small boutique in the Bronx.

Thanks for visiting guys!
